Born under the grey skies of Northern England, Karen emigrated to the beautiful, if often frozen, land of Canada in 1992. She's worn many different hats over the years, including those of medical research scientist, interior decorator, kitchen designer, mixed media artist and author. When not sitting at her desk surrounded by cats she can often be found in the kitchen playing with food, at a dance studio learning to tango, or sitting at an airport waiting to catch a flight.

She's the author of three 'Help! there's a vegan coming for dinner!' cookbooks, two travel adventure books and a guide for tourists visiting Tokyo. Other books are always in the works.

Karen's artwork reflects her love of travel. Many pieces are inspired by her visits to Japan, but other countries also pop up from time to time.

Some of Karen's travel photography is available for purchase on shutterstock.com
